About Villas B’alam Ya
Balam Ya (“Jaguar of the Water”) is widely considered one of the gems surrounding Lake Atitilan. The property, on the lake’s eastern shore between Panajachel and Santa Catarina Palopo, faces the Atitlan, Toliman and San Pedro volcanos offering sensational views, mystical sunrises and spectacular sunsets. Our seven private villas, tucked into canopies of foliage and flowers, are situated to access panoramic views while offering maximum privacy. Each villa is unique in size and design. Some share jacuzzis while others boast larger, exclusive ones.
We have two parking lots for guests and are happy to put you in touch with trusted tuk tuk drivers to take you to town. Below the restaurant (currently open between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.with dinners upon special request), is a spa for those wishing to have a massage closer to the lake instead of inside their villas.
Following the gardens further sloping down to the lake’s shore, guests will find a green beach area with chaise lounges in which to enjoy the pristine sunny mornings, relax with a drink and a good book or venture out in the kayaks, paddleboard and row boats. Our employees are happy to fire up the wood-fed sauna for your use before or after you dive onto our private floating dock. We welcome you to schedule private yoga classes or tutorials with our in-house certified instructor.
We offer private transportation from and to Guatemala City and its airport and Antigua as well as day trips to towns such as Chichicastengo. Please ask if we can assist you with other services to accommodate your needs.
Finally, feel free to inquire about our special packages for proposals, birthday gatherings, weddings and other special occasions. We can both accommodate and design/ facilitate tour groups of up to twenty-three participants.
